Personal Health Information

This practice is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal health information. Your medical record is a confidential document and is treated as such. As is the policy of this practice to protect your personal health information, we ensure that this information is only available to authorised staff members for the intended purposes and to comply with Privacy Act.

Telephone advice

Most problems are best dealt with in consultation. A doctor is available during normal surgery hours for emergency advice. Our staff are experienced in deciding the appropriate response to any phone request.

Reminder system

Because our practice is committed to preventative care, we may send you an occasional reminder regarding health services appropriate to your care. If you wish to opt out of this, please let us know.

Test results

To ensure continuity of care, this practice does not release test results on the phone (To discuss the results please make a follow-up appointment)

Repeat Prescriptions

This practice does not honour repeat prescription telephonic requests unless in exceptional circumstances. Attendance is necessary. A token fee of $20 – $30 per script.

Home Visits

This may be arranged if too unwell (but not urgent) to come to the surgery, for Mackay local residents and at no inconvenience to booked practice patients.
